Spine Street is a small experiment by Oore. You need a free account to use it, so your progress can follow you to any device.
What we keep
When you create an account, we keep:
- your email address and your username, so you can sign in, and the avatar you picked;
- your password, stored only in scrambled (hashed) form that no one, including us, can read;
- your Spine Street progress: your bookshelf, XP, stamps, reading log and settings;
- when your account was made and when it last saved.
We use this only to run Spine Street: to sign you in and to bring your progress to your other devices. We don't sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to track you.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase stores accounts and saved progress.
- Google (Gmail) sends password-reset emails.
- Cloudflare hosts the website. Like any web host it keeps basic technical logs, such as which pages were requested.
Cookies and storage
Spine Street uses your browser's storage to keep your progress and to remember that you're signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Deleting your data
Signed in, open your account (the button at the top of the street) and choose Delete my account. This erases your account and everything saved with it. Start fresh on your library card erases your progress but keeps your account.
Age
You need to be 13 or older to create an account.
